    Global Security Settings for Zones

    zaiveeBy zaiveeFebruary 6, 2023No Comments2 Mins Read

If you have multiple Zones (Push, Pull, Record, VoD) and you want to apply unified security parameters for them, then you can define the same under Global Security Settings. Please note, all defined security parameters under settings will be applied to all Zones created from the 5centsCDN Console. With this feature, the user can use Global security with the help of Domain Lock, Secure Token, Geo Block.

The main advantage of this feature is you can set Uniform Security features for all your zones and can be modified according to your convenience using the available Update Mode options and the options are :

    • Save: This would be the default setting, if you add a new security parameter, then that parameter will not affect any of your current Security added but will apply to all zones created afterwards. For example, if you add a new domain under Domain Lock and updated with the Save feature, then this new Domain Lock won’t be applied to the existing Zones but will be applied for created afterwards.
    • Append: If you add a new security parameter, then that parameter will be added to your current Security of the existing zones and will get applied to all streams created afterwards. For example, if you add a new domain under Domain Lock and updated with the Append feature, then this new Domain Lock will be applied to the existing Zones as well as the newly created zones.
    • Overwrite: If you add a new security parameter, then that parameter will override all the current Security of the existing streams and will get applied to all streams created afterwards. For example, if you already had an existing Domain Lock for the zones and if you want to overwrite with new Domain Lock setting you can update it by using the Overwrite Feature

Please make sure to save this Global Security setting after updating it with the above updating options and your Global Security Settings will take effect.
