    Set Response Code

    zaiveeBy zaiveeFebruary 6, 2023No Comments1 Min Read

With this behavior enabled, edge servers can overwrite the response code sent by the origin with a custom one you select.

    How it works

You may wish to change the response code the origin sends to the client. For example, if your origin is redirecting a client to a permanent location with a 301 status code, you can send the client to a temporary location with a 302 status code.

    Features and options

    Field What it does
Status Code Select an HTTP Status Code to replace your existing status code.
206 Override With Status Code set to 200, enable 206 Override to allow the 206 OK status to take precedence.

Note: Using the 206 overrides allows the 206 response to be overwritten. This isn’t recommended as the 206 status code is specific to byte-range responses. Confirm that this setting is applied only to the responses you want to overwrite with a 200 OK status code. For more information on this interaction, please contact your Akamai representative.
